Danielle Boisvert joined Haryett & Company in 2011. For many years she worked exclusively in criminal law and has recently expanded her practice into family law, after graduation from Queen’s University in 2007. Having practiced predominantly in the Edmonton area, Danielle has represented clients in Alberta’s Provincial Court, Court of Queen’s Bench, and Court of Appeal, on various criminal matters ranging from drug trafficking and possession charges, to simple assaults and murder.
Danielle obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta, majoring in sociology, with a focus on Criminology. She attended Queen’s University in 2004, graduating with her Law degree in 2007. At Queen’s University, Danielle was deeply committed to Queen’s Legal Aid, a pro bono program that provides legal assistance in criminal and administrative law to persons in need. Danielle spent three years with the program, completing her duties in her final year of law school as a mentor to first year volunteers. Danielle’s legal education focused on criminal law and advocacy, and she worked as teachers’ assistant to a criminal law professor while in university. Her focus on the criminal aspects of the justice system groomed her towards her immediate desire to become a criminal defence lawyer, and she was able to immediately establish a reputation of the highest professionalism.
Danielle has established her reputation as a firm and effective advocate in negotiations and trial, and is a zealous protector of individual liberties and the rule of law. She understands the serious disadvantage that individuals face at the hands of the state and police, and is steadfast in her role as a protector of her client’s individual rights and liberties. She understands that people make mistakes, and everyone deserves to have professional advocacy of the highest quality.
Danielle is a proud wife to a loving husband, and a doting mother to her young son. She is passionate about her health and fitness, enjoying outdoor activities like swimming and camping, and indoor activities like water polo and yoga. Her careful attention to a proper work/life balance means she is mentally fresh and focused at all times to provide only the highest standards of legal representation to individuals who face substantial legal and personal jeopardy when charged with an offence.
